Labor Day weekend has passed but swimming season has been extended at Presque Isle State Park.
Park officials will post lifeguards at Beach 8 on Saturday and Sunday, from noon until 6:30 p.m. each day, said Matt Greene, park operations manager.
“With Beast on the Bay happening Saturday and the Erie Marathon on Sunday, there will likely be a lot of people at the park this weekend,” Greene said.

Will swimming be permitted the rest of September?
Swimming will be permitted at Beach 8 on Saturdays and Sundays through the end of September, weather permitting, Greene said. Park officials will look at weather forecasts and make a call each week on Tuesday or Wednesday.
