Our team swiftly mobilized to save Crescent, a moon bear trapped in a tiny, rusted cage for over twenty years in Vinh Phuc, near the Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre. Crescent’s liberation from the bile industry not only marks a new chapter in her life but also signifies a profound shift in local attitudes toward bear bile farming.
A New Dawn for Crescent
Crescent’s rescue underscores the remarkable progress in the fight against bear bile farming. For years, Animals Asia has worked tirelessly to reduce the demand for bear bile by promoting humane alternatives and raising awareness about bear sentience. This relentless advocacy has led to a significant change in community attitudes. Crescent’s owner, recognizing the need for a better life for the bear, voluntarily surrendered her to our care, illustrating a shift towards kindness and compassion.
