Most of the bears in our sanctuaries and partner projects are becoming active again, but some of them are still snoozing in their warm beds of straw. 💤
📍 Did you know? As our sanctuaries are located in different countries, the period of hibernation varies from mid-October to late March. During autumn bears gain a lot of weight, and they use up this extra body fat to live off while not losing any muscle. This allows the bears to come out of hibernation thinner, but still as strong as they were before winter. ❄️
